Welcome to AEEA
Environmental Educators: A Natural for Arkansas
Arkansas promotes itself as the Natural State because of the rich and abundant diversity of our natural systems. In order to preserve and conserve this unique and irreplaceable heritage it is necessary to educate the people of Arkansas about matters affecting the maintenance of Arkansas as the natural state. Thus, the Arkansas Environmental Education Association provides great opportunities for environmental educators to network and share their successes.
Environmental Education increases public awareness and knowledge about environmental issues and provides the skills to make informed decisions and take responsible actions. It is based on objective and scientifically sound information. It does not advocate a particular viewpoint or course of action. It teaches individuals how to weigh various sides of an issue through critical thinking and it enhances their own problem-solving and decision making skills.
