AEEA Hires New Executive Director
The AEEA Board of Directors would like to introduce the new Executive Director, April Layher.
April is really excited to be onboard as the new Executive Director of the Arkansas Environmental Education Association. Environmental education has been a major focus of her work and life and she has strived for unique and creative ways to teach environmental education. For the past twelve years she has worked for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission as a biologist and environmental educator. Most recently, she worked at the Delta Rivers Nature Center in Pine Bluff, where she developed and gave environmental education programs for people of all ages. Born and raised in California, April has lived and worked in Arkansas for nineteen years. She holds degrees in music, animal science and fisheries biology and has also taken most of the required education courses and testing for teacher certification in Arkansas. She is married to Dr. William G. Layher, an environmental research scientist and together, they have six children and nine grandchildren. Feel free to contact April at aprillayher @ yahoo.com
